Muscle glycogen is the main fuel for moderate- to high-intensity exercise, and topping up your stores in the 24–48 hours before a race is a well-established sports-nutrition strategy. Carboloader lets you add a lot of carbohydrate in a light drink rather than extra plates of pasta. Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and the depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle. The beneficial effect is obtained with consumption of carbohydrates, from all sources, at a total intake of 4 g per kg of body weight, at doses, within the first 4 hours and no later than 6 hours following highly intensive and/or long-lasting physical exercise. Vitargo® is a patented, high-molecular-weight carbohydrate made from waxy maize starch, developed in Sweden and used by endurance and strength athletes worldwide. It has a very low osmolality, so it mixes into a light, non-sticky drink.

How to use
Shake 75 g vigorously with 500–700 ml of water. Drink between meals in the 24–48 hours before competition, and/or about 2 hours before the start; use less water for a thicker drink.
